On August 9th and 10th, 2023, Save Ellis Island welcomed students from the Stephen T. Mather Building Arts & Craftsmanship High School for a preservation project on the south side of Ellis Island – the Ellis Island Hospital Complex.

Students, supervised by Chris Adamec, Core Value Advocate with the Mather School and Matt Jacobs, National Park Service Liaison for the school, worked to build wood and Plexiglas frames to replace broken Hospital windows.
