Symbolic, Iconic, Historic… these are the words and images that come to mind when we say Save Ellis Island – and rightly so.
Ellis Island welcomed over 12 million immigrants seeking a new life—1.2 million of whom were treated at its hospitals - no other facility in the world aided so many. Today, those patients represent the roots of an estimated 136 million U.S. citizens.
Thanks to Save Ellis Island Members, the 29 buildings that make up the Ellis Island Hospital Complex have been in our care for over 20 years. We could not be the Caregivers, charged with the preservation of this American icon, without you!
