Tour JR’s exhibit Unframed-Ellis Island in its unprecedented entirety!
In celebration of the one-year anniversary of our guided Hard Hat Tours through the Ellis Island Hospital Complex, we are kicking off the new series Art In History with a very special guided tour of the JR installation Unframed-Ellis Island.
You will see all 24 images – including those not on our current Hard Hat Tour.
Marc Azoulay, curator of the exhibit and JR’s New York Studio Director, will be our Guest Guide for the tour. Marc will discuss the intentions behind each installation as well as the techniques that were used.
This guided tour also coincides with the debut of “Ellis” – a short film about Ellis Island directed by JR and narrated by Robert De Niro. It will premiere at The New Yorker Festival on October 4.
The Reserved Ticket price of $150 includes a round-trip ferry ticket, two-hour tour (includes the infectious disease hospital) and a museum quality poster of the window image “Seven Children” chosen specifically for Save Ellis Island by JR.
Proceeds to benefit the Ellis Island Immigrant Hospital.
Reserve your tickets today to ensure availability.
Please send your ticket request to firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at 973-383-1080.
JR’s book, The Ghosts of Ellis Island is on sale on our website. This evocative book includes the entire exhibit and original historic photos. Also included in the book are drawings by Pulitzer Prize-winning author and cartoonist Art Spiegelman.
