What are those buildings and why are they here?
Join a museum educator on designated Saturdays throughout the year to explore the newly restored Ferry Building and discover the story of Ellis Island’s U. S. Public Service hospitals in the exhibition Future in the Balance: Immigration, Public Health and the Ellis Island Hospitals. Families will engage in hands-on, interactive activities that bring to life the experiences of immigrants who underwent medical and mental examination while on Ellis Island and the roles of the Public Health Service doctors, nurses and staff who worked here.
